Dear visitors, participants, staff and friends of the Ruhrpottbattle!

We – the organising team of the Ruhrpottbattle – have to announce regretfully that this year’s battle planned for 6th November 2021 has to be cancelled due to the coronvavirus pandemic.

For more than 20 years the best of the international urban dance scene meet for the Ruhrpottbattle at the Flottmann Hallen in Herne. Spectacular battles in the categories Popping (1 vs 1), Hip Hop (1 vs 1), Krump (1 vs 1) and B-Boying (2 vs 2) – closer to the audience than anywhere else!

We hope that we can continue to admire you and your art on the various web platforms and that you will continue to bring forward Hip Hop, Popping, Krump & B-Boying despite cancelled battles and do what you love to do – DANCE!

More than 400 visitors experienced a thrilling Ruhrpottbattle on 9 November 2019.

  • ‘Princess Game’ from Hamburg (Krumping)
  • ‘Arif’ and ‘Flo’ from Berlin (Breaking)

The Ruhrpottbattle is being held in cooperation with Jugendförderung Herne, Pottporus e.V. and Flottmann-Hallen Herne.

The first Ruhrpottbattle took place in 1998 and quickly became the ultimate destination for the international urban dancing scene. Every year the best dancers from all over the world come together in the Flottmann halls and battle in different categories in the classical cypher for the championship.

It is the only event of its kind in the metropolis region Ruhr. The participations follows an invitation by the Ruhrpottbattle team. No preselection of qualification.
